Nationally Known Designers - Kim Van Antwerp & Dustin Wedekind to teach at Creative Destination!

Kim and Dustin will be here September 6th to teach a Hyper-Warped Square workshop.

In the workshop you will learn the Hyper-Warp Squares that you can turn into earrings, outrageous rings or a reversible bracelet. They will show us Exploding Sets and how to incorporate that into inovative Contemporary Geometric Beadwork. Kim and Dustin are very excited to show lots of other new and inventive ideas with beads.

You might know Kim from her work with Contemporary Geometric Beadwork. Kim is a collector and a creator. She likes asymmetry, almost always, and details and allusions, sometimes hidden. Dustin, "The Bead Boy," was senior editor of Beadwork magazine.

Kim has a BA in Studio Art from the University of Texas at Austin. She has been making glass beads and working in Precious Metal Clay since 1999.

Dustin has a BFA in Fibers from Colorado State University. He began his beading career as Bead Boy, writing for Beadwork magazine, which grew into a senior editor position. Drawing upon years of technical editing, designing, and illustrating with Interweave Press, he wrote Getting Started with Seed Beads.

Beadathon  is another name for fun!  Bring your bead projects and share your skills with fellow beaders.  Ooh and aah over their designs, as they will do for yours.  A light supper is served, always with chocolate for dessert.  You bead better with chocolate, you know!  Drawings are held and guests receive a 15% discount on most purchases made that evening.  Call and reserve early for this third Saturday event each month. Cost is $18.  A chair massage is available for a reasonable fee. Beadathon is for beaders of all levels. Give us a call to reserve your space!

Bead & Lunch

Join the Bead & Lunch bunch!  This daytime version of Beadathon meets from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, with a catered delicious deli lunch.  Find the chocolate in huge freshly baked cookies.  Reservations required for this first Wednesday of each month.  Cost is $18. Like at Beadathon, you will enjoy prizes and discounts. Unfortunately, chair massage is not available at this time.

Savvy Sunday

Find out what’s trendy or learn a new skill!   Here’s your chance to expand your horizons.  Get savvy the first Sunday of each month from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.  The event includes a kit and instruction with everything you need to finish your project.  Each Savvy Sunday presents something new for a total cost of approximately $25.

Open Beading

Do you ever want just a quiet time for beading, without the interruption of unwanted calls or household tasks waiting to be done?  Treat yourself and bring your friends to an afternoon of beading on the second Tuesday of each month from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.  No charge for this event, but, because space is very limited, please call to reserve a spot.

Guest Artists

You see their patterns in the major magazines and meet them at national bead shows.  Guest artists come to Creative Destination to teach and display their creations.  In the past we’ve had Klew, Tennessa McLean, Antelope Beads, Margaret Zinser, Dona Anderson, Paul Ricks, Amy Loh-Kupser and Deb Moffett-Hall sharing their extraordinary talents.  Get on our email list for advance notice of these special occasions.

Fall Festival

Winter holidays are special and so is our Fall Festival.  This is the weekend newly designed kits are available.  Date is set annually, so check your email in the fall.

Bead & Lunch Starts at 10:00 AM
